Erin started Kicks when Kicks Dance Horsham first started up. She is now 16 years old and has been in classes every week, workshops every holiday and shows every other year since! She is a fab helper in the classes and all the children know and love her. Every Kicks teacher has lovely things to say about Erin and would agree that Kicks wouldn’t be the same without her. We love having Erin at Kicks and we hope to have her there for many years to come!
Read Erin’s ‘Words from the heart’ below talking about what Kicks means to her.
I’ve been involved with Kicks now for almost 6 years and I can honestly say that I’ve loved every minute! After just one PE session, I was obsessed and started going along to the after-school club on a Thursday afternoon with Amelia. It was the highlight of my week! It was the perfect opportunity to make new friends, keep fit and have fun all at the same time.
Since starting Kicks in 2014, I’ve performed in two of their shows – the first in 2016 and the second in 2018 – and I look back on both with such fond memories. I feel it was on these occasions that my self-confidence really began to grow and I’m so grateful for those opportunities. I’ve always been quite shy and so naturally, I was slightly nervous before going on stage. However, the whole Kicks Dance team were fantastic and both shows were amazing and events that I’m so proud to have been a part of.

Over the past few years, I’ve also had the pleasure of helping out at various classes, parties, workshops and other Kicks events such as summer fair performances and Funday Sunday stalls. I love leading the younger children because it reminds me of when I first started at Kicks and how much I loved it (and still do!).
These events have also contributed to a huge growth in my self-confidence and I have gained valuable leadership skills which will definitely come in handy in the future.

I look back on my Kicks journey so far with such pride and joy and I hope there will be many more years of fun, fit, feel good dancing to come!
